New Releases At Movie Mix 22nd January 2009!

January has been a quiet month for DVD releases but it is picking up now, this week we have six to tell you about including Tropic Thunder and Rock N Rolla. Watch the trailers to help you decide...









Written and directed by Ben Stiller and featuring a host of stars including Robert Downey Jr, Jack Black, Nick Nolte and Steve Coogan Tropic Thunder is an action packed comedy not to be missed!

A group of well-known successful actors are cast in the biggest, most expensive war movie ever produced! They include Tugg Speedman (Ben Stiller) - a pampered action superstar, Kirk Lazarus (Robert Downey Jr.), an intense, three-time Oscar-winning actor; Jeff Portnoy (Jack Black), star of the popular gross-out comedy franchise "The Fatties"; multi-platinum hiphop-star-turned-entrepreneur-turned-actor Alpa Chino (Brandon T. Jackson); and first-timer Kevin Sandusky (Jay Baruchel).

After filming begins, the director (Steve Coogan) has a change of heart and throws the actors into real-life combat and they are forced to become the fighting unit they're portraying. Will they make it out of the jungle in one piece?

Karl (Aiden Gillen) has guilty secrets that must be erased from his apartment before his wife and daughter get there. But all three are trapped in an elevator in a deserted building on holiday weekend - and are desperate to get out.

What first seems an inconvenience soon turns into a nightmare when no one answers their calls, their meagre water supply runs out and one of them goes just a little bit crazy under the pressure. Propelled by escalating tension and an increasingly desperate conflict, Blackout hurtles towards a terrifying climax.

American tattoo artist Jake Sawyer explores and exploits ethnic designs from around the world. At a tattoo expo in Singapore, he glimpses the exotic world of traditional Samoan tatau in the work of the fiercely proud Alipati. Fatefully, Jake is attracted to Alipati's beautiful cousin, Sina.

When Jake impulsively steals an ancient Samoan tattooing tool, he unwittingly unleashes a powerful angry spirit. Suddenly, his art takes on a frightening new dimension, exposing everyone he touches, including the feisty Singaporean Victoria, to mortal peril.
